Every year, Menzies Aviation Uganda throws open its doors to celebrate Girls in Aviation Day a day dedicated to inspiring young girls to dream boldly and see themselves thriving in the aviation world.
This isn’t just an event; it’s a movement. We bring together girls from primary and secondary schools across the country, introduce them to the magic behind the scenes at the airport, and connect them with the women who keep aviation moving.
Why We Do It
Aviation has long been seen as a male-dominated space, but that narrative is changing fast. Our General Manager, a passionate advocate for female empowerment, reminds the girls every year that their dreams absolutely belong in aviation. Whether it’s piloting an aircraft, leading operations, managing safety, engineering, or commanding an entire airport there’s space for every girl who dares to aim high.
What Happens at the Event
Girls get the chance to:
- Meet female professionals across various departments from ground handling to IT, safety, HR, operations, leadership, and more.
- Explore real aviation equipment and experience hands-on demos.
- Hear powerful stories from women who’ve climbed the aviation ladder and are still reaching higher.
- Ask questions, interact, and learn that the sky really isn’t the limit.
Impact
